New York City |
Tim's grandfather was a New York City policeman, assigned to ATF
during prohibition. Though an honest cop, he did have ties to the mobs from the kids he grew up with on the streets of New
York City. After the arrest of one of these childhood companions, he gained knowledge of an old abandoned subway station and
tunnel that led to an abandoned warehouse in Brooklyn that had been used as a brewery and distillery during
pohibition. The tunnel was used to smuggle bootlegged whiskey and beer into of New York City.
Tim's grandfather told Tim about it on one of their trips back to New York. He showed him how
to get there and the way into the station, through a secret sliding wall. His grandfather knew Tim was one of the "Super Heroes"
and told him, "Tim there may come a day when you guys get to powerful and popular. The guys who run the cities and the lawenforcement
agencies, gaurd their power jealously. Some of these guys are not as honest as they would have you believe. They will do anything
to protect their power. Nobody out side of a select few, your father is one of them, know of this place. A deal was cut
many years ago to protect this place. This deal was made by honorable men, albeit not particularly law abiding, but honorable."
Two months later Tim's grandfather died of a heart attack on the family ranch in Texas.
As the corrupt authorities and politicians tighten their grip on
the "Super Heroes" prior to the enactment of the "Riggs Act", Tim began stocking the warehouse with weapons, vehicles, epuipment
and supplies. He did so by using both the streetside and hidden entrances. With the aid of honest law enforcment personel
and sympathetic private citizens the warehouse soon became a secure "Safe House" for Tim and his associates to use, should
they ever need it.
Many of those that assisted were citizens and buisness
owners that had benefited from the actions of the "Super Heroes". They included, contractors, tradesmen and shop owners along
with average citizens.
